Kanyon Studio holds an FAA Remote Pilot Certificate under 14 CFR Part 107, which is required for any commercial small unmanned aircraft operation in the United States. Agency work involving aerial imagery can be performed in-house rather than subcontracted.
Much of San Diego County sits inside controlled airspace around San Diego International, MCAS Miramar, North Island, Montgomery Field, and Gillespie. Flights in those areas require FAA authorization, which is obtained in advance of the scheduled date and documented.
