Image metadata is information stored alongside the picture, such as camera settings, timestamps, software, author details or GPS coordinates. What is present depends on the device, settings and previous exports. Some apps remove these tags; inspect the file rather than assuming it contains or excludes location data.
GPS tags can reveal where a photo was taken. Privacy cleanup removes those embedded location tags from supported JPG and PNG files. It does not hide addresses, faces or other information visible in the picture itself.
