How it is shot

Daylight, twilight and aerial photography

A finished project has a short window before the owners move furniture in, the water goes cloudy and the plants change shape. The daylight set is shot at completion with the water balanced and the decking clean, at the same corrected perspective used for real estate so the space reads true to scale.

Twilight coverage can include pool, path and exterior lighting. A separate dusk visit and deliverables are agreed in the quote.

Aerials show what a ground camera cannot: the shape of the pool against the lot, the drainage and grading, the relationship between the house, the patio and the planting. Files come back web-sized for your site and Houzz, plus full-resolution for print and proposals.

When should a finished project be photographed?
As soon as the water is balanced, the decking is clean and the plants are in, before the owners fill the space with their own furniture. Twilight is scheduled for a clear evening within the same week where possible.
Do you shoot before and after?
Yes. A short pre-construction visit is added to the completion set and delivered as matched pairs from the same positions, which is the format that performs best on your site and Houzz.
Is twilight worth it on a pool?
On any project with underwater lights, fire or landscape lighting, yes. It is the frame that shows the lighting design, and it is usually the image builders lead with. Twilight is a second visit and is quoted with the project.
Can you fly aerials over a residential lot?
Parts of San Diego sit in controlled airspace that can require authorization in advance. Where it does, the authorization is handled as part of the job, and the aerial is planned around neighboring homes.
Can you shoot several projects in one trip?
Yes. Nearby projects can be combined when the shot list and travel allow. Half-day photography starts from $700* for up to 4 hours of shooting; the number of sites, finished-image count and editing are agreed in your official quote. *Final pricing depends on project scope, editing needs, location and production requirements.
