Shooting Encinitas

Gardens, surf and the walk to the beach.

Encinitas rentals sell a slower version of San Diego: a garden patio, a surfboard rack, a short walk to Moonlight Beach or Swami's. The photos should feel like that, with warm light, real plants and outdoor space given equal weight to the rooms.

The coast faces west, so ocean-view homes in Cardiff and Leucadia are scheduled for late afternoon. Garden units under the trees along Highway 101 photograph well most of the day.
